“Green Button” Helps National Grid Customers Tap Into Energy-Saving Tools

Waltham, Mass. (PRWEB) December 22, 2014

National Grid lately finished its launching of the Green Button initiative, a program inspired by the challenge to supply customers with downloadable energy consumption data in a standardized format of the White House. All National Grid clients are now able to get this new format by logging in their reports and clicking on “My Utilization and Price Graphs.” Customers may also continue to possess suitable access to their energy use and price graphs and other straightforward download formats.

“Enabling our customers to take control of their energy is a significant part Connect21, our way of designing and constructing the energy networks of the twenty-first century, so participating in Green Button is a no brainer,” said Edward White, vice president of consumer Strategy and Environmental, National Grid. “Green Button can offer accessibility to added advanced tools which help customers play an effective part in comprehension and diminishing the energy they consume.”

With Green Button, National Grid customers in Massachusetts, New York and Rhode Island can securely download the last 13 months of their energy information in a standardized format and plug those information into an emerging variety of on-line programs and benchmarking programs to make more informed energy choices. One example is the House Energy Yardstick, a tool which compares the energy use of a house to similar buildings of ENERGY STAR. Clients can compute their yardstick score now at http://ift.tt/1HuX55p.
