Great Sky Solar has announced that they will be moving into their first dedicated office space on May 1, 2015. Great Sky Solar is renting the office space from the American Friends Service Committee, and is thrilled to be able to support an organization with similar values.

The American Friends Service Committee is a nonprofit Quaker organization devoted to service, development, and peace programs throughout the world. Their work is based on the belief in the worth of every person, and faith in the power of love to overcome violence and injustice.

“We are very excited about moving into our first dedicated office space and especially excited to be supporting the good work of the American Friends Service Committee,” stated Great Sky Solar CEO Katherine Fisher.

The new office is centrally located on Massachusetts Avenue near Porter Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Easily accessed by public transportation, the new office will make it easier for clients to meet with the company. There is room for four people in the office space, and Great Sky Solar will have access to conference rooms in other parts of the shared building. Basement storage will allow the company to keep files and supplies on hand in a central location.

Prior to leasing the new office, Great Sky Solar employees met in cafes and worked from home. The new office environment will make it easier for staff to collaborate on new ideas, make phone calls without loud background noise, and for crews to pick up any installation supplies they need from one designated area.

The Residential Senior Care Franchises industry has experienced strong growth during the past five years. The industry, which provides residential and personal-care services for elderly individuals who are unable to fully care for themselves, has boomed on account of the aging population and the growing need for dementia care for seniors with memory impairment. As a result, IBISWorld expects industry revenue to rise at an annualized rate of 4.1% to $ 1.9 billion over the five years to 2015.

Demographic trends have underpinned growing demand for residential senior care franchises, with the number of adults aged 65 and older forecast to increase at an average annual rate of 3.4% to 47.8 million people during the five years to 2015. Because elderly individuals are generally more prone to injury and illness, they require more assistance with daily activities, driving their dependence on industry services. “However, the industry’s expansion was impeded early in the five-year period by the collapse of the housing market,” according to IBISWorld Industry Analyst Dmitry Diment. Many seniors finance the expenses of senior care facilities by selling their houses, so as the anemic residential real estate market shrank the value of many houses during the recession, seniors found it more difficult to pay for industry services. However, with housing prices rebounding during the latter half of the period, industry growth is expected to accelerate in 2015, with revenue forecast to rise 5.8%.

“The franchise model has gained traction as a way to capture demand for residential senior care from an aging population,” says Diment. Instead of having to build reputations from the ground up, as nonfranchise businesses must do, franchise owners benefit from national marketing campaigns and the name recognition of emerging brands. The number of industry franchise establishments has grown at an average annual rate of 2.2% to 1,271 operators in the five years to 2015.

Industry growth is expected to accelerate over the next five years, driven by an improving economic environment and the continued aging of the population, which will expand the industry’s markets. However, regulatory challenges are expected to continue to pressure profitability, as healthcare reform incentivizes the transition to at-home managed care, and Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement rates decline over the next five years.

So how is the home market going in the Cincinnati area? Considering the overall market of the country right now, the city of Cincinnati and surrounding areas are actually holding pretty strong. There have also been numerous programs given to the public to take advantage of to promote first time home buying, and to promote people to move to the area. These programs also help people from being forced from their home, and give them the financial ability to continue to live in the area.

One of the most beneficial programs for people to take advantage of is actually targeted towards people that are currently have a job educating, firefighters, and police officers. The program is called the “Good Neighbor Next Door” program, and its benefits are almost too good to be true. How the programs work is that it is specifically used for HUD homes. If you are currently in one of these professions, and have decided to purchase a HUD home, you are allowed to actually take out two separate mortgages for the home, at 50% of the loan amount per loan. Once you borrow both mortgages, you are required to stay in the home for 36 months. During that time period, you pay on only one of the mortgages, and the other one sits in limbo and accrues interest. After the 36 months, the idle 50% mortgage literally goes away, and you will be able to have a home that is worth a lot more than you owe, or you can decide to sell for a profit. This really helps men and women that have a profession that really helps the community.

The current market in the Cincinnati area is actually showing optimism in home prices. They are holding pretty steady, which is good for people who have just purchased a home, and for people wishing to sell their house. Foreclosures are still on the rise, but not enough to affect other values of comparable homes yet. The new construction market is still a slow go, but despite the value of new construction homes not being where they once were, the prices of homes that aren’t new have held steady. This is very promising considering what many other areas of the country are going through. Once the new construction homes start selling, and see a gradual increase in their value, this will completely help the value of all homes in the Cincinnati area, and hopefully every aspect of real estate starts to climb in value, making buying and living in Cincinnati a great investment.
